Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Wylde Rhoads!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carl Romero!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero punishes Wylde Rhoads's body with a nice straight punch.

Wylde Rhoads feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Romero had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wylde Rhoads defends it easily.

Romero escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wylde Rhoads gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wylde Rhoads advances to half guard.

Wylde Rhoads is looking for a kimura here.
Wylde Rhoads passes to full mount!

Wylde Rhoads is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Romero can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Romero wants to control but Wylde Rhoads is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wylde Rhoads is trying to take his opponent's back.
Wylde Rhoads won't let Romero get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Romero is squirming around, avoiding Wylde Rhoads's attempts to control the action.
Wylde Rhoads tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wylde Rhoads has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Wylde Rhoads jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Romero manages to avoid the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Wylde Rhoads tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wylde Rhoads has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Romero can't do much from the bottom here.

Wylde Rhoads has hold of Romero's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Romero seems comfortable defending it but Wylde Rhoads has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Romero is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Romero is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Wylde Rhoads couldn't care less - he's delighted!
