Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cain Velasquez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, The Fighter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cain Velasquez! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velasquez misses with a takedown and Fighter counters with a takedown into side control. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Velasquez struggling a bit here. Velasquez tries to get back to half guard but can't. Fighter working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Fighter throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Velasquez works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Fighter not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velasquez misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Velasquez regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Fighter. Velasquez looking for a sweep. Not yet Velasquez, not yet. Fighter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Velasquez on the ground. Fighter throws a strike but Velasquez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Velasquez tries to free his leg and advance position but Fighter is retaining full guard. Velasquez throws a strike but Fighter rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fighter throws and elbow that misses. Velasquez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fighter's guard. Nice move by Velasquez! Velasquez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Velasquez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Fighter keeping moving, preventing Velasquez from controlling successfully. Velasquez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fighter is keeping the position for now. Velasquez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velasquez wants to control from the top but Fighter keeps moving. Velasquez wanted to stand there but Fighter had control of the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Velasquez throws a big right hand that misses. Fighter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fighter tries to get out of the position. Velasquez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fighter swivels though and keeps the full guard. Velasquezis looking to pass into half guard but Fighter pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Fighter is in guard. Fighter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Velasquez wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Fighter manages to pass to side control. Fighter is thwarting Velasquez's attempts to control the position. Fighter winds up and cracks Velasquez with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Fighter lands with a punch from half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Velasquez wants to sweep but Fighter has passed to side control! Fighter is looking to take a break and control but Velasquez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that The Fighter will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Velasquez doesn't succeed with the takedown and Fighter counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Velasquez keeping moving, preventing Fighter from controlling successfully. Velasquez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Fighter! Velasquez can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fighter is looking to escape. Poor strikes thrown by Velasquez there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
That's one minute gone in the round. Fighter holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Velasquez tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Fighter blocking the ground and pound. You get the feeling that Fighter really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Velasquez wants to control the pace but Fighter is squirming around nicely. Fighter wants to try and get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Velasquez lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Velasquez thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Velasquez looking to ground and pound but Fighter is blocking nicely. Fighter is trying to stand. Velasquez looking to control but Fighter is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Cain Velasquez has got the better of the ground game so far. Velasquez lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velasquez unloading with bombs! Velasquez looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Velasquez looking to control but Fighter is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Fighter is trying to stand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Velasquez can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fighter is looking to escape. Velasquez landing punches. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Velasquez looking to finish with strikes here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Velasquez unloads with some shots from mount but Fighter bucks and avoids them well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cain Velasquez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Velasquez shoots for a double leg takedown but Fighter sprawls well. He's pushed Velasquez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Cain Velasquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fighter shoots in looking for a takedown. Velasquez tries to sprawl out of it but Fighter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Velasquez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Velasquez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fighter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Velasquez somewhat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Velasquez pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velasquez fails with the takedown and Fighter counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The Fighter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cain Velasquez. Velasquez wants to get back to full guard. Velasquez blocking the ground and pound attempt from Fighter. Fighter not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fighter winds up and cracks Velasquez with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Fighter lands a nice short elbow. Fighter scores with a couple of good hammerfists. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fighter sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Velasquez defending well though. Fighter missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Fighter controlling the action here. Velasquez is trying to control but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Velasquez is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Fighter scores with a couple of nice shots. Fighter not landing any meaningful shots this time. Velasquez avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Fighter. Fighter stalling away here and it's allowed Velasquez to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Fighter preventing the sweep. Fighter with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Fighter postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Fighter trying to control but Velasquez is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fighter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Fighter wants to control from the top but Velasquez keeps moving. Velasquez tries to land a sweep but no joy. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Fighter in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Fighter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Velasquez works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Velasquez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! The Fighter showed his dominance in that final round. I think Fighter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
