Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lamar Washington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dixon comes to the cage accompanied by The Clash - I Fought The Law. Washington is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: UFC Theme song. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Dixon!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Lamar Washington!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dixon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Washington is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Dixon asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Washington throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

Dixon is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Washington has escaped the position, nice work there.
Washington tries to bench press Dixon off him but Dixon keeps the position.

Dixon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Washington to his feet.
Washington throws a series of punches but Dixon moves out of range.
A low kick from Washington misses
and Dixon counters with a series of strikes. Washington will be more careful next time no doubt.

Washington throws a leg kick

and Dixon counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Dixon advances position into side control!

Dixon stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Dixon fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Washington to the ground. Dixon is now in Washington's guard.
Washington tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dixon trying to stand up but can't free himself from Washington's guard.

Washington has an active guard here but Dixon has managed to pass into half guard.

Dixon is looking for a kimura but Washington is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dixon to get the leverage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Washington is trying to stand.

Washington pushes Dixon off and gets back to his feet.

Dixon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Dixon looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Washington is trying to improve his position.

Dixon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Washington to his feet.
Washington tries to close the distance and clinch but Dixon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Washington ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Washington misses with a takedown
and Dixon counters with an inside leg kick.
Washington tries to close the distance and clinch but Dixon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Washington fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dixon throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Dixon misses with a double jab
and Washington counters with a straight right hand.
Nice sprawl there from Washington as Dixon shoots in.
Washington takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Washington swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Washington rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dixon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dixon connects with the punch.

Washington clinches.
A short right from Dixon.
Dixon is trying to force a seperation but Washington has the dominant position.
Washington jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dixon walks away with a smile on his face. Washington gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Washington tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dixon swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dixon fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Washington throws a leg kick that misses.
Dixon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Washington manages to avoid it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dixon gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Washington.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Washington rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dixon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dixon moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Washington throws a combination that misses
and Dixon counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Dixon dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Washington wants to clinch but Dixon slips to the side
and Dixon counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Dixon lands a big uppercut and Washington crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Washington looks OK. Dixon waves Washington back to his feet!


Washington is rocked!


It looks like Lamar Washington has been cut.
Dixon darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Washington's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Dixon before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Peter Dixon!
Peter Dixon retains his middleweight title!
