Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jay Huno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johann Brink (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Huno! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johann Brink! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Lou da Vinci and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Huno misses with a head kick.
Huno closes the distance looking to clinch and Brink counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Brink manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Huno on his heels. He'll look to pass Huno's guard now, I'm sure. Brink drops back looking for a leg! Huno is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Huno manages to kick Brink off! Brink jumps back into Huno's guard. Huno is looking to stand up but Brink isn't so interested in that idea. Brink loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Brink in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brink scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Brink drops back, looking for a kneebar! Huno looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Huno looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Huno! Brink is looking for a sweep. Huno trying to control the action but Brink is working from the bottom. Huno wants to take a breather but Brink manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Huno. Brink is looking for a triangle but Huno pushes his legs off easily.
Brink has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brink is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Brink missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Brink is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Brink seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Huno does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Huno keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Brink thows a huge punch but Huno dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brink is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ground and pound from Brink. Brink missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Brink connects with a nice short shot to Huno's temple. Brink is looking to advance position but Huno won't allow it. Brink throwing shots but Huno is blocking nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Huno keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Huno is not content to let Brink control the position. Brink is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brink controlling the action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Brink is looking to advance position but Huno won't allow it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johann Brink dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Brink scores with a takedown into Huno's guard. Brink trying to control the position from guard on top but Huno is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brink throws a big right hand that misses. Brink cracks Huno with a solid left hand. Brink throws and elbow that misses. Huno uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Brink's guard. Nice move by Huno! Huno trying to control the position from guard on top but Brink is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Huno stands up and waves to Brink to follow him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brink circles away from the clinch attempt so Brink counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Brink working some strikes from top position. Brink showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Huno working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Brink.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brink wants to control from the top but Huno keeps moving. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Brink's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Brink throwing strikes from guard but Huno blocks nicely. Huno utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Brink is working Huno over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brink's corner is telling him to maintain position. Huno keeping moving, preventing Brink from controlling successfully. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brink accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Brink working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Brink throwing strikes but missing. Brink landing with the ground and pound. Brink landing with the ground and pound. Brink has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brink chips away with some ground and pound. Huno working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Brink. Brink is in close to Huno's body, working some short punches and elbows. Brink is stalling in the full guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Brink trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johann Brink showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Brink shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Brink is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Huno is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Huno has escaped and now he's on top! Brink bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Huno's guard. Huno avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Brink prevents Huno from getting back to his feet. Brink sitting in guard, not really doing much. Huno is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brink lands a couple of decent looking shots. Brink throws a big right hand that misses. Brink trying to control but Huno is working from the bottom. Brink forces his way into half guard. Brink has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Huno defend it? Brink steps over the head and cranks it - Huno is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Brink!
