Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aleksey Nikiten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Wellies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnny Wellies is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Johnny Wellies! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Sergei Dronov and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wellies rushes Nikiten and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Nikiten misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Wellies.
Wellies breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Wellies pushes Nikiten up against the cage in a clinch. Wellies breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Wellies moves in looking to clinch but Nikiten pushes him off. Nice uppercut there from Nikiten. Wellies fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nikiten, pushing him back against the cage. Nikiten jumps guard but Wellies stands there with Nikiten around his waist. Nikiten gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Nikiten has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Nikiten obliges. Wellies keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Nikiten's efforts to push away. Nikiten could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Wellies's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nikiten doesn't succeed with the takedown and Wellies counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Wellies. Nikiten is trying to drag Wellies to the mat but Wellies just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aleksey Nikiten. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wellies looking for a takedown. Nikiten looking to slow down the pace here. That's one minute gone in the round. Nikiten is trying to force a seperation but Wellies has the dominant position. Nikiten lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Wellies. Nikiten misses with a knee strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wellies lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Nikiten! Wellies throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Wellies looking to finish with strikes here!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wellies controlling his opponent. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Nikiten is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Wellies controlling from the full mount. Wellies throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Nikiten is breathing heavily. Wellies controlling from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nikiten takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Wellies dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Nikiten tries to bum rush Wellies with a series of wild strikes but Wellies uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Wellies tries to clinch up. Wellies fails with an attempt to clinch.

and Wellies counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Wellies seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Wellies works his foot free and advances to mount. Wellies fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Wellies takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wellies has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wellies has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Nikiten's face.
Wellies takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Wellies lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Nikiten hang on? Wellies tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The referee warns Nikiten that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wellies tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Wellies lands a big shot there that rocks Nikiten but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Johnny Wellies showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Nikiten takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Wellies tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Nikiten manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Nikiten fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Wellies rushes Nikiten and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Nikiten on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Nikiten has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Wellies unloads a knee to the mid-section. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wellies turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! The referee asks Wellies politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Wellies prefers to stall for the moment though. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Wellies advances nicely into full mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wellies controlling from mount. Johnny Wellies has got the better of the ground game so far. Nikiten is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Nikiten is wriggling around trying to escape.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Johnny Wellies was stalling too much, according to the referee. Wellies fails in his attempt to clinch. Wellies scores with a takedown into Nikiten's guard. Wellies in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Wellies is stalling in the full guard. Johnny Wellies is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Wellies works a leg free and moves into half guard. Aleksey Nikiten has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Nikiten tries to get to full guard but Wellies has control of the leg. Wellies trying to control the pace.
And that's the end of the fight! Johnny Wellies comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Wellies has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
