Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Punch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Werdum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Punch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Renato Werdum!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punch tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Werdum manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Punch shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Werdum eats them both and turns towards Punch to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Werdum tries for a takedown but Punch circles away easily
and Punch counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Werdum avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Werdum shoots and misses
and Punch connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Werdum misses with a takedown attempt
and Punch counters with a nice uppercut.
Chris Punch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Renato Werdum.

and Punch counters with a crisp one two that drops Werdum! Punch thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Werdum to his feet! Werdum is in big trouble!

Werdum has Punch pressed against the cage, preventing Punch from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Punch wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Werdum tries to pull guard but Punch holds him up against the cage and eventually Werdum drops back down to his feet.

Werdum tries to pull guard but Punch holds him up against the cage and eventually Werdum drops back down to his feet.

Werdum jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Punch walks away with a smile on his face. Werdum gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Werdum is trying to work for a kimura but Punch is defending well.
Punch pushes Werdum off looking to stand but Werdum dives back in and keeps control.

Werdum looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Punch is trying to stand up here but Werdum is controlling him well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Punch pushes Werdum off and gets back to his feet.
Werdum is looking to clinch but Punch is avoiding it.

Punch is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Werdum.

Chris Punch is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

and Punch counters with a series of strikes. Werdum will be more careful next time no doubt.

Punch slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
