Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mack Money (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mack Money!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diaz darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Diaz tries to pass the half guard into mount. Money knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Diaz wants to work for an arm triangle but Money is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Diaz throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Money looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Money is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Diaz scores with a couple of nice shots.
Money has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Diaz is working away from the top position though.
Diaz uses his free foot to push down on Money's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Money.
Money is bucking up trying to escape but Diaz cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Money looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Diaz is hanging on to Money's back as he tries to escape.
Diaz struggling to land strikes to the head as Money covers up.
Money is trying to break free.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Diaz doesn't have the hooks in and Money manages to turn into his guard.
Diaz keeping moving, preventing Money from controlling successfully.

Diaz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Money gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Diaz trying to keep a closed guard but Money is proving a slippery customer.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Money wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving.
Money slips nicely into half guard.
Diaz wants to control but Money is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Diaz works his way to full guard. Good work.
Money wants to pass the guard but Diaz is keeping the position.
Diaz controls Money momentarily but Money frees himself.

Diaz is looking for a triangle but Money pushes his legs off easily.
Diaz looks gassed!

Diaz has his foot on Money's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Money works his way back into a safe position though.
Money wants to get up but he can't break Diaz's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Diaz controls Money momentarily but Money frees himself.
Money trying to control but Diaz is working from the bottom.

Diaz is working an open guard so Money takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Money misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Money fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Diaz, pushing him back against the cage.
Diaz misses with a body punch.
Diaz gets underhooks to prevent Money's takedown attempt.

A head punch blocked on the inside by Money.
Diaz stops a takedown attempt from Money.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mack Money. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Diaz prevents a takedown attempt there.
Diaz gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Money.
Money fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Money decides to pull guard.
Diaz content to stall in guard here.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Diaz looks to land a combination but Money avoids it well.
Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Money paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Diaz closes the distance but Money moves to the side

and Money counters by moving into the clinch.
Money tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Money stalls.
Diaz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Money walks away with a smile on his face. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diaz tries to bum rush Money with a series of wild strikes but Money uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mack Money is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Money misses with a wild combination.
Money lands a head kick!
Money misses with a takedown attempt - Diaz sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Diaz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Money manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Diaz closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Diaz keeps control of Money as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Diaz tries to stall but Money uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Money tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Money is trying to break the clinch but Diaz has him pressed against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Money's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Diaz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Money walks away with a smile on his face. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Diaz is breathing heavily.
Money is pressing down on Diaz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Diaz is trying to work for a kimura but Money is defending well.

Money is looking for a sweep. Diaz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Diaz with the ground and pound but Money uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Diaz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Diaz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Diaz wants to control from the top but Money keeps moving.
Money is looking to stand up but Diaz isn't so interested in that idea.
Money is trying to hold Diaz in close to prevent damage but Diaz has managed to pass into half guard.
Money moves into full guard.
Money managing to control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Diaz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Money's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Diaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Diaz turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Diaz manages to end up in side control.

Diaz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Money gets full guard.
Diaz advances position into side control!
Diaz wants to control but Money is keeping him busy.

Diaz working away.
Nick Diaz has got the better of the ground game so far.
Money is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Money has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Diaz is working away from the top position though.
Diaz wants to pass to mount but Money is defending the position.
Money is looking to control Diaz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Money avoid being mounted?

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Money looking to control.
Money keeping full guard, as Diaz tries to pass.
Diaz has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Money is proving hard to escape from.
Diaz postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diaz wants to control from the top but Money keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mack Money wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Money swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Money cracks Diaz with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Nick Diaz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Money feints a jab promting Diaz to slip. Money then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Diaz slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

and Diaz counters with a nice double leg into side control. Money won't be happy with that.
Money manages to work his way to half guard, despite Diaz's best efforts.
Money has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Diaz is working away from the top position though.
Diaz seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Diaz is looking to take a break and control but Money is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Money wants to control but Diaz is keeping busy and won't allow it.

I've got Diaz winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
