3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nico Giuseppe! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Giuseppe finds it's way through Lowe's defenses. Giuseppe looks to land a left hand but Lowe moved out of range nicely. Lowe looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Lowe drives through with a takedown into guard. Lowe stops Giuseppe from standing up. Lowe chips away with some ground and pound. Giuseppe wants to stand but Lowe is controlling the position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Lowe content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Giuseppe keeping full guard, as Lowe tries to pass. Lowe is in close to Giuseppe's body, working some short punches and elbows. Giuseppe is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Lowe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Lowe slips under a jab. Giuseppe connects with a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lowe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Giuseppe is fending him off so far but Lowe persists. Nope, Giuseppe circles away and we're back to standing. Lowe throws a head kick but Giuseppe moves out of range.
Giuseppe lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lowe at a distance.
Giuseppe throws out a powerful jab. Nico Giuseppe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Giuseppe lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Lowe gets a takedown into half guard. Giuseppe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lowe is working away from the top position though. Lowe lands strikes from half guard. Lowe is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Nice strikes from Lowe there. Lowe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Giuseppe keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Giuseppe is trying to stand back up but Lowe is controlling him
Lowe seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Lowe is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Giuseppe is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
