Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dude McWrestler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Javier Pena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think McWrestler might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dude - Tenacious D. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dude McWrestler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Javier Pena! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Eddie Farnsworth and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McWrestler moves out of range as Pena strikes. McWrestler closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. McWrestler working the strikes but Pena uses the opportunity to regain half guard. McWrestler throwing shots but Pena is blocking nicely. Pena won't allow McWrestler to pass to mount. Pena is trying to stand.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dude McWrestler wasn't doing enough on the ground. Pena throws a lazy right hand but McWrestler sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Pena throws a series of punches but McWrestler avoids them all with ease. Pena lands a jab-cross combination. Pena takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. McWrestler connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Pena momentarily.
A punch lands to the side of McWrestler 's head but he takes it in his stride.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McWrestler takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pena throws a left and a right that both miss
and McWrestler counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by McWrestler. Pena wants to stand and escape but McWrestler is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McWrestler connects with a couple of short punches. Pena is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. McWrestler tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McWrestler wants a takedown.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Pena. McWrestler lands a nice shot to the body. A body shot lands from McWrestler.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dude McWrestler. That's going to take a lot out of him. McWrestler misses with a punch on the inside.
McWrestler breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

McWrestler punishes Pena's body with a nice straight punch. Pena throws a combination that misses and McWrestler counters with a stiff right hand. Pena swings for the body but McWrestler moves out of range.
McWrestler fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McWrestler pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Pena thuds a left hand into McWrestler's body. McWrestler throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pena stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Pena misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and McWrestler counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pena! Pena's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pena can do anything to dispel that myth. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McWrestler connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dude McWrestler dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Pena lands an overhand right. McWrestler pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Pena misses with a combination
and McWrestler makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Pena dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Pena misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McWrestler.

and McWrestler counters by clinching up. McWrestler dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. McWrestler keeps control of Pena as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. McWrestler misses with a shot to the kidneys.
That's one minute gone in the round. McWrestler is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Pena wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for McWrestler. McWrestler turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! McWrestler in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pena parries the strikes from McWrestler easily there. McWrestler is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Pena to escape.

McWrestler is looking to take a break and control but Pena is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. McWrestler wants to control for a moment but Pena uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pena kicks off McWrestler and gets to his feet. Pena throws a left and a right that both miss
and McWrestler counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Some wild striking there from McWrestler.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pena throws a left and a right that both miss

Pena looks to score with a jab to the body but McWrestler is just out of range. McWrestler shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pena pinned against the cage. Pena gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. McWrestler wants to clinch. Pena misses with a shot to the body and McWrestler counters with a stiff right hand. Pena has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Pena there as he acknowledges the shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pena thows a left - swing and a miss! Pena scores with a one two! McWrestler had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Pena lands a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pena throws a good cross that connects.
Pena misses with an uppercut. McWrestler misses with a left hand and Pena counters with a two punch combo. Sloppy strikes from Pena. Those never looked like landing. Pena throws a poor cross that misses
and McWrestler counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Dude McWrestler overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. McWrestler is just content to waste time from the top position. Pena takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Pena preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McWrestler stops Pena from standing up. McWrestler sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pena's guard. McWrestler wants to control but Pena is keeping him busy. Pena pushes McWrestler off looking to stand but McWrestler dives back in and keeps control.
McWrestler misses with a head shot. Pena uses the momentum to regain guard. Dude McWrestler is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McWrestler working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Pena is looking to stand up but McWrestler isn't so interested in that idea. Javier Pena has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pena is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dude McWrestler. Well I reckon that's a shut out for McWrestler, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
