Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Craig Wilbon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Silver!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilbon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A big right from Silver misses.
Silver scores with a head kick. Wilbon tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Craig Wilbon has been cut.
Silver tries to land a leg kick but Wilbon saw it coming and moves away.
Jab by Wilbon.
Silver shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wilbon but Wilbon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silver misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silver lands a nice leg kick that just misses Wilbon's sensitive parts.
Silver moves away from the strike by Wilbon.
A bone on bone clash there as Wilbon blocks the leg kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Silver.
Wilbon takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Silver misses with a low kick.
Nice body punch from Silver.
Silver thumps Wilbon with a low kick.
Wilbon is breathing heavily.
Silver fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Wilbon.
Silver shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Silver lands with a shot to the body.
Silver slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Silver attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Wilbon takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Silver throws a solid leg kick but Wilbon takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Silver.
Silver lands with a slapping head kick.
Craig Wilbon's cut is getting worse.
Wilbon is holding his hands too far apart here. Silver throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Wilbon is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Silver!
