Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Di Mario (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miikka Kumpulainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mario's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Lose Yourself. Miikka Kumpulainen will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Di Mario!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Miikka Kumpulainen!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kumpulainen closes the distance and clinches.
Mario changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kumpulainen fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Kumpulainen rushes Mario and presses him up against the cage.
Kumpulainen decides to pull guard.
Mario is fighting to break Kumpulainen's control of his arms but Kumpulainen is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Mario working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kumpulainen's head.

Kumpulainen manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kumpulainen with shots to the head and body - Mario looks very uncomfortable down there.

Kumpulainen is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Mario defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kumpulainen looking to break Mario's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Mario remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Kumpulainen will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

You can see the frustration on Mario's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Mario tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Kumpulainen controlling from mount.
Mario wants to hold on but Kumpulainen pushes him away.

Kumpulainen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mario is looking to escape.
Mario tries to control the position but Kumpulainen now has his back.
What can Mario do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mario is having to fend off submission attempts from Kumpulainen, who is looking to sink in the choke. Kumpulainen doesn't have the hooks in though and Mario manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
Kumpulainen working a defensive guard but Mario manages to pass into side control anyway.
Kumpulainen is looking for a sweep.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kumpulainen is trying to buck Mario off.

Kumpulainen is trying to improve his position.

Miikka Kumpulainen dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Mario gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Mario tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kumpulainen trying to control but Mario is working from the bottom.
Mario lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kumpulainen!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kumpulainen gets back to half guard.
Kumpulainen trying to hold on to Mario's head to control him but Mario postures up.
Despite being in the dominant position, Miikka Kumpulainen just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kumpulainen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kumpulainen instigates a clinch.
Kumpulainen tries to pull guard but Mario holds him up against the cage and eventually Kumpulainen drops back down to his feet.
Kumpulainen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mario has his takedown stuffed
and Kumpulainen counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Kumpulainen rushes Mario and presses him up against the cage.
Kumpulainen breaks from the clinch.
Kumpulainen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Kumpulainen won't allow Mario to get back to his feet.

Kumpulainen wanted to stand there but Mario had control of the position.
Mario looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Kumpulainen looking to sit in guard and control but Mario gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Mario will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kumpulainen wants to sweep but no luck.
Kumpulainen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mario is controlling him.
Mario gets to his feet - Kumpulainen follows without any prompting.
Kumpulainen throws a head kick that misses.

Mario moves out of range of the body kick.

Mario misses with a takedown attempt
so Kumpulainen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kumpulainen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Kumpulainen slips a nice elbow through Mario's hands, connecting with Mario's forehead.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Mario really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kumpulainen looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Kumpulainen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mario does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Kumpulainen trying to control from Mario's half guard. Mario has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mario not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kumpulainen is posturing up here but Mario has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Kumpulainen tries to roll out but it's too tight and Kumpulainen has to tap! Slick submission there by Mario!
