Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Alyssa Summers and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Starr tries to close the distance and clinch but Jimenez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jimenez shoots for a double leg takedown but Starr sprawls well. He's pushed Jimenez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jimenez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

and Jimenez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Starr!
Jimenez moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Starr has worked his arm free - good work by Starr!
Jimenez is looking to take a break and control but Starr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Starr changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jimenez tries to avoid it but Starr manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jimenez to the ground. Jimenez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jimenez remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
