Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mamed Khalidov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Ramsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khalidov closes the distance looking to clinch
so Ramsey counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Ramsey not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Ramsey stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Khalidov with a lazy takedown attempt
and Ramsey counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Ramsey is working Khalidov over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Ramsey throwing strikes from guard but Khalidov blocks nicely.
Khalidov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ramsey on the ground.
Khalidov is trying to keep Ramsey in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ramsey is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Khalidov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ramsey doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ramsey manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Derek Ramsey wasn't active enough on the ground.
Ramsey closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ramsey lands in his opponent's guard.
Ramsey is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Ramsey working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Khalidov's head.
Ramsey's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Derek Ramsey was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Ramsey avoids a punch combination nicely.
A solid leg kick lands there for Khalidov.
Ramsey closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ramsey lands in his opponent's guard.
Ramsey controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Khalidov looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Khalidov is breathing heavily.
Ramsey seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Derek Ramsey hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Ramsey shoots in and bounces Khalidov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ramsey is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Let's hope that Ramsey has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Ramsey stands and steps away. Khalidov gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
