Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alenko tries to clinch up and Cannon counters by moving into the clinch. Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign! A knee to the head by Alenko.

Alenko throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Cannon blocks it with crossed arms. Alenko is pressed up against the cage. Cannon has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Alenko down to the mat. Alenko avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Alenko tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Cannon counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Alenko! Cannon throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Alenko tries to hold on but Cannon pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cannon misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
A nice elbow there by Cannon. Cannon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cannon raining down shots from the mount! Cannon working for a guillotine from mount but Alenko is in no mood to give up. Alenko defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Cannon. Alenko reaches up to try and control the position but Cannon seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Alenko rolls and tries to escape and now Cannon has his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Cannon misses with an elbow to the head. Alenko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cannon on the ground. Alenko is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cannon looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Cannon is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Alenko looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Alenko tries to break free.
Cannon is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Cannon somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Cannon missing with punches from the back. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Alenko is trying to get back to his feet but Cannon has full control of the position and if anything, Alenko has just worked his way into a worse spot. Cannon throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Cannon throwing sloppy strikes. Cannon is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Alenko is defending well though. Cannon let's go of the attempt for now. Cannon misses with punches from the back. Cannon looking for the choke but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cannon circles away from the clinch attempt so Cannon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Alenko is trying to control the position but Cannon postures up. Cannon drops back looking for a leg! Alenko is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Alenko manages to kick Cannon off! Cannon jumps back into Alenko's guard. Cannon stands and steps away. Alenko gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Alenko moves to clinch but Cannon breaks away and Cannon holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alenko tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Cannon has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Cannon tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Alenko smiles and moves away.
Alenko wants to clinch but Cannon slips to the side and Cannon counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Alenko tries to clinch and Cannon counters with a nice double leg into guard. Cannon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Cannon in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Alenko can't keep his opponent in guard - Cannon advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Cannon content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cannon prevents Alenko from improving his position. Cannon seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Nice strikes from Cannon there. Alenko is looking to escape. Alenko tries to kick Cannon off in order to stand up. Cannon Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alenko is trying to control Cannon's posture but Cannon avoids it. Alenko is trying to improve his position. Cannon is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Alenko will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Cannon is looking to take a break and control but Alenko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cannon stands up and beckons Alenko to his feet. Brendan Cannon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Alenko tries to clinch but fails miserably and Cannon counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cannon wants to stall.
Alenko is looking to control Cannon's arms but Cannon gets an underhook and turns him. Now Alenko has his back to the cage. Alenko unloads a knee to the mid-section. Cannon lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Cannon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Cannon wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Alenko has him pressed against the cage. Alenko with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Cannon closes the distance and clinches. Alenko gets underhooks to prevent Cannon's takedown attempt.
Kaidan Alenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brendan Cannon. Alenko landing knees to the head.

Alenko lands a right hand that snaps the head of Cannon backwards. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brendan Cannon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Alenko wants to clinch but Cannon slips to the side and Cannon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Alenko's guard. Alenko can't keep his opponent in guard - Cannon advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Cannon uses his free foot to push down on Alenko's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Alenko. Cannon has hold of Alenko's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Alenko manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Cannon goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Alenko is on top in guard.
Cannon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Alenko! Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cannon controlling the position easily from mount. Cannon raining down hammerfists from mount. Alenko tries to control Cannon's body but Cannon pushes him off. Alenko squirms to his side and now Cannon has his back! Cannon controls the position. Alenko is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Cannon gets his way!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cannon scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Alenko is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Cannon.

And that's the end of the fight! Brendan Cannon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Cannon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
