Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alfred Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Donnie Perez!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammer misses with a jab, cross combination.
Perez misses with a left hand
and Hammer counters with a stiff right hand.


It looks like Donnie Perez has been cut.

and Hammer counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Hammer seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perez wants to get back to his feet.
Hammer landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Hammer feints and as Perez raises his hands in defense, Hammer changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Perez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hammer is controlling him.
Hammer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Perez wants to stand but Hammer is controlling the position.
Hammer is breathing heavily.

Hammer controls from within his opponent's guard.
Hammer prevents Perez from getting back to his feet.
Hammer's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Alfred Hammer just wasn't active enough.
Perez throws a shot from downtown. Hammer moves away and avoids it.
Donnie Perez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Perez misses with a left hand

and Hammer counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Perez wants to stand and escape but Hammer is having none of it.
Hammer throws a big right hand that misses.

Hammer is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Perez wants to stand but Hammer is controlling the position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Perez might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Hammer ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Perez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hammer manages to avoid it.

Perez goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Hammer slips under a jab.
Perez throws an overhand right that lands on Hammer's shoulder, as Hammer tries to avoid the shot.
Hammer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hammer takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Perez lands with a good body shot.
Perez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hammer sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Perez loads up on a big right hand but Hammer slips the punch.
Perez connects with a looping right hand.
Hammer uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Perez.
A jab from Perez misses.
Perez lands with a good body shot.

Perez misses with an uppercut. Hammer saw that one coming.

Perez comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

A punch lands to the side of Hammer 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Perez throws a looping overhand right but Hammer ducks down to avoid it.
Hammer takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Perez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hammer.

Perez lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


Hammer is rocked!
Hammer moves out of range as Perez strikes.
Oh Hammer is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A slow jab from Perez misses its intended target.
The fighters circling - Perez throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hammer seems to have got his legs back now.
A slow jab from Perez misses its intended target.
Perez darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Perez throws a hook but Hammer avoids it easily.
Hammer has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Perez finds it's way round the side to connect with Hammer's head.
BOOM! Perez lands a beautiful left hook that drops Hammer. Hammer tries to recover but Perez is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Hammer lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Donnie Perez!
