Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Francisco Guillerdo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Murray Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guillerdo comes to the cage accompanied by AZ -- The Format. Head has chosen Murray Head - One Night in Bangkok as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Murray Head!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guillerdo misses with a left hand

and Head counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Guillerdo's guard now.
Head wants to control from the top but Guillerdo keeps moving.
Head postures up in Guillerdo's guard and throws a big left but Guillerdo blocks it.
Guillerdo seems keen to control Head's posture.

Guillerdo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Guillerdo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Head is controlling him.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Head looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Guillerdo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Francisco Guillerdo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Head counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Guillerdo throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Head counter with a right hand.
Head swings widly with a right hand
and Guillerdo makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Francisco Guillerdo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Head attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Guillerdo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Head manages to avoid it.

and Guillerdo counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Guillerdo takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Head clobbers Guillerdo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Head jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Head has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Donk. Head catches Guillerdo right on the button with a cross.
Head is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

and Head counters with a straight right hand.

Murray Head dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It looks like Murray Head has been cut.

Guillerdo connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Guillerdo throws a combination that misses
and Head counters with a nice uppercut.
Guillerdo ducks under a wild hook from Head.

and Head counters with a left and a right that stings Guillerdo.

Guillerdo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Head to score with a decent uppercut.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and Head counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Head is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Head won't allow Guillerdo to sweep him here.

Murray Head showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Guillerdo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


A looping hook to the body misses from Guillerdo. Head does a little dance to reset his feet.
Guillerdo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Francisco Guillerdo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Head counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Guillerdo!

Guillerdo is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Guillerdo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Guillerdo tries to get out of the position.

Guillerdo tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Guillerdo's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Head punching from mount but Guillerdo doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Head avoids the attempt from Guillerdo to control.
Head sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Head content just to control the position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Guillerdo takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Guillerdo is wriggling around trying to escape.
Guillerdo is working hard here to advance position.

Guillerdo is squirming around, avoiding Head's attempts to control the action.
Head tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Guillerdo is in all sorts of trouble here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Head takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Guillerdo is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position.
Francisco Guillerdo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Guillerdo wants to control but Head is having none of it.
Guillerdo tries to reverse the position but Head maintains control.

Murray Head comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Head winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
