The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin tries for a takedown but Michaels circles away easily

and Michaels counters with a shoot takedown. Martin fights it but they end up in guard.
Martin is breathing heavily.

Michaels drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Michaels jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Martin is trying to maintain the position but Michaels is very close to passing his half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Let's hope that Michaels has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Shawn Michaels has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Michaels shoots in for a takedown and gets it, with a heavy slam. That will score well with the judges.

Martin is rocked!

Michaels drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Michaels seems to have locked his on tight now - Martin screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Michaels, as he picks up the win!
