Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Mellendrez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terell Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Terell Wright was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Mellendrez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Terell Wright! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wright gets the takedown into side control. Mellendrez parries the strikes from Wright easily there. Wright is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mellendrez to escape.
Wright prevents Mellendrez from escaping the position. You can see the frustration on Mellendrez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Wright working the ground and pound. The strikes coming from Wright are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Wright working away. Mellendrez regains half guard, as Wright was trying to land strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wright lands strikes from half guard. Wright sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Mellendrez defending well though. Wright really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mellendrez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mellendrez tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Wright thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Wright missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Wright seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wright throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mellendrez avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wright. Wright lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Mellendrez is breathing heavily. Wright takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Mellendrez is rocked! Wright scores with a big shot! Mellendrez's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Mellendrez! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Terell Wright!
