The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bunoyan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bunoyan shoots in for a double leg but McCartny sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Bunoyan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bunoyan tries to bum rush McCartny with a series of wild strikes but McCartny uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Bunoyan looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for McCartny!
Bunoyan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McCartny is looking to escape.
Bunoyan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McCartny on the ground.
McCartny tries to hold on but Bunoyan postures up.

Bunoyan goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now McCartny is on top in guard.
McCartny wants to control from the top but Bunoyan keeps moving.

McCartny passes Bunoyan's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Bunoyan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. McCartny lands a nice short elbow.
McCartny tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Bunoyan.
Bunoyan tries to get to full guard but McCartny has control of the leg.
McCartny wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bunoyan keeps working.

Bunoyan wants to get back to his feet.
McCartny tries to pass to full mount but Bunoyan defends it.
McCartny should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
McCartny lands strikes from half guard.
Bunoyan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bunoyan tries to kick McCartny off but McCartny keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Bunoyan tries to roll over but McCartny keeps him under control.
McCartny seems to be working for a kimura but Bunoyan defends the submission attempt.

Bunoyan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
McCartny looks gassed!
Bunoyan looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but McCartny puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

McCartny wants to stand up but Bunoyan is controlling the position.

A close round but Benny McCartny will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Nice takedown defense from Bunoyan. No joy for McCartny on that attempt.
Bunoyan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McCartny looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bunoyan is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Bunoyan has control of an arm but McCartny manages to advance to Bunoyan's back!

McCartny is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Bunoyan is defending well though. McCartny let's go of the attempt for now.

McCartny is breathing heavily.

Bunoyan is staying active underneath McCartny, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

McCartny seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bunoyan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Bunoyan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McCartny's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McCartny's back!
Bunoyan is riding his opponent, not letting McCartny buck him off.

You can see the frustration on McCartny's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Bunoyan is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. McCartny has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Bunoyan has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! McCartny taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Bunoyan doesn't care though - he's delighted!
