Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ilya Orlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Turchin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Ilya Orlov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Ivan Turchin!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turchin throws a head kick that misses.
Orlov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Turchin circles away quickly and effectively.
Turchin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Orlov defends it nicely.
Orlov shoots for a double leg takedown but Turchin sprawls well. He's pushed Orlov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Orlov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Turchin pinned against the cage. Turchin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Orlov tries to clinch but Turchin is having none of it.
Turchin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Turchin wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ilya Orlov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Orlov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Turchin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Orlov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Orlov leaves Turchin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Turchin misses with a body kick.
Orlov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Orlov throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Turchin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Orlov moves away.
Orlov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Turchin pinned against the cage. Turchin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Turchin closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Orlov decides to pull guard.

Turchin stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Orlov is breathing heavily.
Turchin swings for the body but Orlov moves out of range.
Orlov moves in looking to clinch but Turchin pushes him off.

Turchin gets a double leg takedown into Orlov's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Turchin stands and steps away. Orlov gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Turchin counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Orlov is trying to control the position but Turchin postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Turchin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Let's hope that Turchin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ivan Turchin wasn't active enough on the ground.
Turchin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Orlov avoids it really well and circles away.
Turchin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Orlov but Orlov pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Orlov lands with a slapping head kick.

Orlov tries to keep at a distance but Turchin has taken the fight into the clinch.
Orlov stalling in the clinch but Turchin improves position.

Turchin ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Turchin no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Turchin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Orlov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Turchin pulls Orlov in to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ivan Turchin dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Orlov cracks a nice hook into Turchin's ribs.
Orlov turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Turchin takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Orlov cracks Turchin with an open hand slap.
Orlov throws a sloppy head kick and Turchin moves out of range easily.
Orlov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Turchin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Turchin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Horrible takedown by Orlov or perhaps it was just good defense by Turchin which made him look bad.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nice straight punches there by Orlov. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Orlov.

Turchin fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Orlov checks it well.
Orlov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Turchin paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Turchin has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Turchin there as he acknowledges the shot.
Orlov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Turchin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ilya Orlov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Orlov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Turchin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Orlov somewhat.
Orlov slips a jab and a cross from Turchin.
Turchin tries to clinch but Orlov moves out of range.

and Turchin counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Turchin wants to stand up but Orlov is controlling the position.

Turchin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Turchin seems to be working for a kimura but Orlov defends the submission attempt.

Turchin has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Ilya Orlov is winning the standup battle so far.
Orlov misses with a takedown

and Turchin counters with a shoot takedown. Orlov fights it but they end up in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ilya Orlov will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Orlov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Turchin as he jumps to the side.
Turchin has a takedown stuffed.

Orlov forces Turchin back against the cage and clinches.
Orlov creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Orlov tries to score a body lock takedown but Turchin shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Turchin in particular looking to stall.

Orlov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Turchin but Turchin pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Turchin moves out of range of the body kick from Orlov.
A looping hook to the body misses from Turchin. Orlov does a little dance to reset his feet.
Orlov displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Turchin.
Orlov throws a head kick but Turchin moves out of range.

Turchin has closed the distance and engaged Orlov in a clinch.
Turchin jumps guard but Orlov stands there with Turchin around his waist. Turchin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Orlov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Orlov avoids a kick to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ivan Turchin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Turchin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
