Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Peter Lynch!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haikas throws a sloppy head kick
and Lynch counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Haikas works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Lynch misses with a low kick.
Lynch lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Lynch looks for a takedown but Haikas sprawls well.
A head kick by Lynch misses
and Haikas counters with a low kick, right behind Lynch 's knee.
Horrible takedown by Lynch or perhaps it was just good defense by Haikas which made him look bad.

A clash of legs there as Haikas blocks the low kick.
Haikas misses with an uppercut
and Lynch counters with a straight right hand.
Lynch fails with a takedown attempt.
Kullervo Haikas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Lynch.
Lynch takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Lynch throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Lynch throws a front kick aimed at Haikas's knee but Haikas avoids it well.
Lynch feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Haikas's calf.

Lynch fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Haikas manages to avoid it.
Haikas throws a head kick that misses
and Lynch counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Lynch throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Haikas throws a leg kick
and Lynch counters with a stiff right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Lynch dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Lynch scores with a nice body kick.
A low kick from Lynch misses
and Haikas counters with a nice uppercut.
Lynch shoots in looking for a takedown but Haikas manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lynch's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Peter Lynch seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Lynch lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


It looks like Kullervo Haikas has been cut.

and Lynch counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Haikas!

Haikas takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Lynch punching from mount but Haikas doing a good job of avoiding damage.

Lynch takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Haikas holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Lynch tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Lynch looking to control but Haikas is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Lynch's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The referee warns Haikas that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Haikas is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Lynch is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Haikas can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lynch is trying to control here but Haikas has managed to regain half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Lynch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Lynch lands a head kick. Haikas smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Haikas on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Lynch looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lynch throws a hook but Haikas avoids it easily.

Lynch rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Haikas moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A solid leg kick lands there for Haikas.
Lynch throws a nice inside leg kick.
Lynch scores with a leg kick.

Lynch falls off balance throwing a combination
and Haikas counters with a head kick. That will keep Lynch thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Haikas has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Lynch.

Lynch shoots in and drives through. Haikas sprawls well.
Nice defenses there by Haikas.
Lynch misses with a body punch
and Haikas counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Haikas ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Haikas swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lynch makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Haikas rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Lynch makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Haikas really felt that one!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Lynch throws a shot from downtown. Haikas moves away and avoids it.
Lynch misses with a series of wild punches.

And that's the end of the fight!
Peter Lynch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lynch has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
