Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Red Shanks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cletis Kingsford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Red Shanks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cletis Kingsford!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kingsford blocks a head kick by Shanks.
Shanks tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Kingsford cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Kingsford shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kingsford showed some decent athleticism there.
Shanks is looking to improve his position.
Shanks is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kingsford's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kingsford's back!
Kingsford really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shanks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Shanks misses with an elbow to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kingsford prevents Shanks from getting a body triangle.

Kingsford defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Shanks's arms.
Shanks is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Shanks is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kingsford is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kingsford trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Shanks throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.

Shanks is looking to control Kingsford but Kingsford is wriggling around and keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Red Shanks dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shanks fails to pull guard.
Shanks's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Shanks tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kingsford just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kingsford lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Shanks has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Shanks is trying to break free.
Shanks jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kingsford walks away with a smile on his face. Shanks gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kingsford slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Shanks tries for a takedown but Kingsford circles away easily
and Kingsford counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Shanks throws the kick towards the body but Kingsford avoids it.
Kingsford bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Shanks's head backwards.
Shanks swings away with a body shot that misses
and Kingsford counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Shanks fails with the takedown

and Kingsford decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shanks's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shanks is on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kingsford pulls Shanks in close to prevent any damage.
Kingsford's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Kingsford not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Shanks is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Kingsford has Shanks pulled in close to control his posture.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Cletis Kingsford.
Kingsford cracks Shanks with a right hand to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cletis Kingsford showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Shanks tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Shanks trying to control the position but instead, Kingsford has worked for underhooks and has pushed Shanks into the cage.
Shanks is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kingsford pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Shanks pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Kingsford wants to break the clinch but can't.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kingsford creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Shanks jumps guard but Kingsford stands there with Shanks around his waist. Shanks gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Shanks wants a takedown but no success here.
Shanks tries to stall but Kingsford uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Shanks tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A short uppercut from Kingsford.
Shanks wants a takedown but no success here.
Kingsford stops a takedown attempt from Shanks.
Kingsford lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Shanks backwards.
Kingsford lands a right hand.

Kingsford is trying to break the clinch but Shanks is controlling him.
Kingsford working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Shanks drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kingsford pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kingsford ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Shanks takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Kingsford engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Shanks is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kingsford is aware though and is defending well.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cletis Kingsford comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kingsford has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
