Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Obadiah Klinefelter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walt Nightman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Klinefelter comes to the cage accompanied by Star Wars. Nightman has chosen The Night Man as his entrance music. Walt Nightman will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Obadiah Klinefelter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Walt Nightman!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nightman tries a low kick but Klinefelter avoids it.
Nightman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Klinefelter uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Nightman.

and Klinefelter counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Klinefelter.
Klinefelter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nightman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Klinefelter wants to control from the top but Nightman keeps moving.
Nightman wants to stand and escape but Klinefelter is having none of it.

Klinefelter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nightman works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Nightman pulls Klinefelter in close to prevent any damage.
Klinefelter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Nightman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Klinefelter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Walt Nightman has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Obadiah Klinefelter will probably get the nod.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Walt Nightman wasn't active enough on the ground.

Nightman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Nightman is trying desperately to improve position.
Nightman is squirming around, avoiding Klinefelter's attempts to control the action.
Klinefelter thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Nightman gets back to half guard.
Nightman regains full guard. Nicely done.

Klinefelter darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Klinefelter is stalling here. Nightman is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Klinefelter seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Nightman has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Klinefelter bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Nightman throws a hook but Klinefelter avoids it easily.

Nightman lunges at Klinefelter with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Klinefelter's hand.

Nightman tries to bum rush Klinefelter with a series of wild strikes but Klinefelter uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Klinefelter does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Nightman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Walt Nightman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Klinefelter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
