Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Valera Miheev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ashton Mink (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ashton Mink will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mink looks to clinch and Miheev counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Miheev. Miheev's corner is telling him to maintain position. Mink wants to stand but Miheev is controlling the position. Miheev thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Miheev slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Valera Miheev has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Mink misses with a head kick.
Miheev misses with a takedown and Mink counters with a slapping leg kick. Miheev has his takedown stuffed and Mink counters with a single leg into guard. Miheev didn't expect that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mink wanted to stand there but Miheev had control of the position. Mink looks gassed! Mink tries to free his leg and advance position but Miheev is retaining full guard. Miheev keeping moving, preventing Mink from controlling successfully. Mink must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Miheev is pulling down on Mink's head. It's preventing any offense from Mink, at least for the moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ashton Mink wasn't active enough on the ground. Miheev tries for a takedown but Mink circles away easily and Mink holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Valera Miheev. That's going to take a lot out of him. Miheev is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mink pulls him back up using the underhooks. Mink gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Valera Miheev has been cut. Mink breaks from the clinch.
Mink misses with a two punch combination.
Ashton Mink seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Miheev bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miheev happy to just control the position for now. Mink is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Mink wants to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Valera Miheev will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Valera Miheev's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Miheev throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mink's waist but Mink gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Miheev off to one side. Mink wants to clinch and Miheev counters with a nice double leg into guard. Miheev is stalling in the full guard. Mink looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Miheev passes into side control.
Mink is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mink is letting Miheev control him for a moment. Mink tries to improve position but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Miheev controls the position. Miheev is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Mink looks calm but he's in trouble here. Miheev gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Mink is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Miheev lets go of the hold and Mink can pop his arm back in it's socket.
