Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Hopkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Homo Erectus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Homo Erectus!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Hopkin counters with a single leg into guard. Erectus didn't expect that.

Erectus decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Erectus tries to lock up and control but Hopkin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hopkin lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Erectus counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hopkin won't be happy with that.

Erectus decides to stand back up. Erectus steps back and let's Hopkin get back to his feet.

Erectus throws a sloppy head kick and Hopkin moves out of range easily.
Erectus stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hopkin.
Hopkin wants to clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Erectus throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hopkin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Erectus is in Hopkin's guard.
Erectus in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hopkin has Erectus pulled in close to control his posture.
Erectus trying to control the position from guard on top but Hopkin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Homo Erectus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
