Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Blades (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caonabo Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caonabo Cruz told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blades shoots and misses
and Cruz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cruz.
Cruz gets to his feet. Blades looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Cruz throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Blades tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cruz is in Blades's guard.

Cruz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Blades was covering up waiting for the punch and Cruz finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Blades slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Cruz is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Cruz is working for a submission of some sort.

Caonabo Cruz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cruz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
