Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roy McGraw! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexander Fedorov! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGraw throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Fedorov takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Fedorov avoids the head kick by McGraw.
McGraw is looking to land body kicks. A head kick misses from McGraw. McGraw throws a low kick but Fedorov avoids it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fedorov. McGraw tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fedorov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McGraw swivels and escapes. McGraw throws a sloppy head kick and Fedorov moves out of range easily. McGraw throws a low kick but Fedorov avoids it. McGraw throws a push kick but Fedorov slaps the foot to one side. Fedorov checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. McGraw looks to land a body kick but Fedorov moved away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. McGraw throws a head kick that misses. McGraw throws a head kick that misses. McGraw throws a front kick aimed at Fedorov's knee but Fedorov avoids it well. Fedorov takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
McGraw throws a sloppy head kick and Fedorov moves out of range easily. Fedorov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fedorov lands in his opponent's guard. Fedorov pushes down on McGraw's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fedorov takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Fedorov frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. McGraw is breathing heavily. Fedorov controlling from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Let's hope that Fedorov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Alexander Fedorov has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. McGraw pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Fedorov on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alexander Fedorov dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Fedorov closes this distance looking for a takedown but McGraw circles away. McGraw throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. McGraw misses with a head kick.
Fedorov moves out of range of the body kick. McGraw looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McGraw throws a sloppy head kick and Fedorov moves out of range easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Fedorov tries to score a power double leg takedown but McGraw sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fedorov somewhat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fedorov looking to score a takedown here. McGraw is defending well but Fedorov drives through and ends up in McGraw's guard. Fedorov advances position into side control! Fedorov advances to mount. Fedorov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGraw on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McGraw tries to get out of the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Alexander Fedorov. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fedorov is defended easily by McGraw. Roy McGraw has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Fedorov. Fedorov dives in and grabs McGraw's left leg, looking for a takedown. McGraw pushes down on Fedorov's head and hops out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Fedorov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McGraw pinned against the cage. McGraw gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Fedorov blocks a head kick by McGraw.

Fedorov shoots in but no luck this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alexander Fedorov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
McGraw fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Fedorov is out of range. Roy McGraw is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Fedorov avoids the head kick by McGraw.
McGraw tries a head kick but it misses.
McGraw displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fedorov. McGraw looks for the body kick but Fedorov saw that one coming. Both fighters are breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fedorov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. McGraw did well to prevent Fedorov getting side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Well, if Fedorov is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Alexander Fedorov wasn't active enough on the ground. Fedorov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McGraw looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fedorov controlling from side mount. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Fedorov's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Alexander Fedorov wasn't active enough on the ground. McGraw gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Fedorov to score an easy takedown into full guard. Fedorov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Fedorov pushing down on McGraw's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Fedorov trying to control the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roy McGraw has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
