The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babbaramananah tries to clinch up but Maia circles away and keeps his distance.
Ragalamah Babbaramananah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed right hand from Babbaramananah misses the target.
Babbaramananah scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
The fighters circle momentarily. Babbaramananah darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Babbaramananah looks for the body kick but Maia saw that one coming.

Maia takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Babbaramananah fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Maia on the side of the head.

Babbaramananah connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Maia's hands.

enabling Babbaramananah to counter with a crisp jab.
Babbaramananah thuds his right hand into Maia's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Babbaramananah tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maia paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ragalamah Babbaramananah is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Maia takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Babbaramananah wants to clinch up but Maia keeps it at a distance.
Maia blocks a jab.

Babbaramananah tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Maia was well out of range. Poor timing from Babbaramananah.
Maia takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Maia walks forward, straight into a front kick from Babbaramananah.
Babbaramananah throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Maia.
Maia avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Babbaramananah fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Babbaramananah misses with a body shot.
Babbaramananah throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Babbaramananah throws a push kick but Maia slaps the foot to one side.
Maia looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Babbaramananah is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Maia shoots in and drives through. Babbaramananah sprawls well.
Maia has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Babbaramananah throws the kick towards the body but Maia avoids it.
Babbaramananah wants to clinch
and Maia counters with a shoot takedown. Babbaramananah fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Maia slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Maia tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Maia passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Babbaramananah!

Babbaramananah wants to hold on but Maia pushes him away.
Maia is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Babbaramananah is surviving well by controlling Maia's body position as best he can.
Maia wants to take his opponent's back but Babbaramananah doesn't allow it.
Maia has control of Babbaramananah's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Babbaramananah regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Maia moves to back control.
Babbaramananah is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Maia patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Maia working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Babbaramananah is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Maia has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Babbaramananah taps out!
