Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jose Luis Cantero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Van Wilder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cantero kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is La mandanga. Jose Luis Cantero is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Jose Luis Cantero! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Van Wilder! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cantero moves out of range of the body kick from Wilder.
Danga de danga de dang - Wilder scores with a four punch combination! Wilder uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Wilder lands a jab to the head.
A big right from Wilder misses. Wilder misses with a double jab
and Cantero counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Wilder! Wilder really wants to buck Cantero off and get back to his feet. Cantero cracks Wilder with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cantero has hold of Wilder's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Wilder manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
You get the feeling that Wilder really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Cantero can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wilder is looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilder wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Wilder is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Cantero looking for a guillotine from mount but Wilder is having none of it. Cantero working the ground and pound effectively.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cantero controlling the position easily from mount. Cantero raining down shots from the mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cantero is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Wilder can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilder's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Cantero putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Cantero tries to control but Wilder wriggling away. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilder is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Wilder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cantero. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cantero gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Wilder lands with a nice body punch. Cantero is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Wilder. Wilder tries to land a leg kick but Cantero saw it coming and moves away.
Wilder throws the kick towards the body but Cantero avoids it. Wilder misses with an uppercut. Cantero saw that one coming. Van Wilder is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cantero changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wilder tries to avoid it but Cantero manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wilder to the ground. Wilder escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Wilder falls off balance throwing a combination
and Cantero counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Cantero drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wilder looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wilder looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wilder! Cantero tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Wilder presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Wilder is looking to stand but Wilder has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

Wilder is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
That's six minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Cantero wants to try and get back to his feet. Cantero wants to hold on but Wilder pushes him away. Cantero really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Cantero wants to control but Wilder is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Wilder wants to get back to his feet but Cantero is holding on tight.
Cantero tries to reverse the position but Wilder maintains control. Wilder wants to stand but Cantero is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Wilder stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Cantero decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Wilder pushes Cantero off and gets back to his feet.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Wilder throws a sloppy body shot
and Cantero counters with a shoot takedown. Wilder fights it but they end up in guard. Wilder is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Cantero dives into side control.
Cantero prevents Wilder from escaping the position. Cantero content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Wilder dodges the ground and pound from Cantero. The ground and pound from Cantero seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Wilder wants to get back to his feet but Cantero drags him back down. Wilder bucks up and tries to throw Cantero off but instead Cantero has got his back! Cantero is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Wilder with him. Wilder is trying to defend but Cantero has an arm under the chin now! Wilder grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jose Luis Cantero!
