Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bosse Grepp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rusty Trombone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Trombone's choice of entrance music: Back in Black by AC/DC. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bosse Grepp! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rusty Trombone! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grepp manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Trombone on his heels. He'll look to pass Trombone's guard now, I'm sure. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Trombone thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Trombone managing to control the position. Trombone throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Trombone is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Trombone wants to sweep here but Grepp controlling him for the moment. Trombone preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Trombone looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Grepp puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Trombone wants to improve his position but Grepp is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trombone is controlling Grepp's position as best he can from this difficult position. Grepp thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Trombone's head. Grepp is thwarting Trombone's attempts to control the position. Grepp not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Trombone blocking the ground and pound attempt from Grepp. Trombone moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Grepp postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Trombone is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Grepp is aware though and is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Trombone looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Grepp lands a couple of elbows. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Grepp scoring with punches to the head and body. Grepp postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Grepp content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Trombone is trying to control the position but Grepp postures up. Grepp throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Grepp working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Trombone wants to stand up but Grepp is controlling him. Grepp landing with the ground and pound. Grepp missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Trombone is on top in guard.
Trombone pushes down on Grepp's leg and manages to get into half guard. Trombone thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Trombone working Grepp over with strikes. The fighters are battling for position here. Grepp manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Trombone with a nice head shot there. Trombone is pushing down on Grepp's leg trying to pass to half guard. Grepp is fighting to maintain full guard but Trombone has managed to sneak the leg through. Grepp regains full guard. Nicely done. Grepp manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Grepp raining down hammerfists from mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Grepp cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Grepp avoids the attempt from Trombone to control. Grepp in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Grepp postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Trombone looks a forlorn figure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bosse Grepp dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Grepp doesn't succeed with the takedown and Trombone counters with a nice double leg into side control. Grepp won't be happy with that. Grepp tries to get back to half guard but can't. Grepp is working hard here to advance position. Trombone tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Trombone has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Grepp manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Trombone gets full guard. Grepp is looking to work some ground and pound but Trombone has wrist control. Trombone bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Grepp's guard. Grepp lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Trombone! Trombone regains half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grepp sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Trombone defending well though. Grepp working the head and body with strikes. Trombone has hold of Grepp's hands but Grepp slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Grepp throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Trombone is trying to stand back up but Grepp is controlling him

That's two minutes gone in the round. Grepp wants to pass the guard but Trombone is keeping the position. Grepp throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Grepp postures up and lands a big shot to Trombone's brow. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Grepp accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Trombone keeping full guard, as Grepp tries to pass. Grepp throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Trombone works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Trombone trying to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trombone wants to sweep here but Grepp controlling him for the moment. Trombone manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Trombone jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Grepp manages to avoid the submission attempt. Trombone working the head and body with strikes. Trombone looks up at the clock and then as Grepp takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Trombone smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Grepp takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Trombone wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Grepp, who protects the arm well. Grepp regains half guard. Grepp wants to get back to full guard. Trombone working Grepp over with strikes. Grepp is looking to improve his position.
Trombone passes to full mount! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Grepp taking shots to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rusty Trombone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Trombone tests Grepp's chin there with a solid looking shot. Trombone lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Grepp with a poor takedown and Trombone counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Trombone. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bosse Grepp. That's going to take a lot out of him. Trombone keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Grepp's head. Grepp tries to land a sweep but no joy. Trombone distracts Grepp with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Trombone postures up and lands a big shot to Grepp's brow. Trombone connects with a couple of short punches. Trombone scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Trombone cracks Grepp with a solid left hand. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Grepp looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Trombone wants to control from the top but Grepp keeps moving. Trombone passes Grepp's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trombone is nestled in close to Grepp, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Grepp tries to roll over but Trombone keeps him under control. Trombone trying to control from half guard but Grepp is working away. Grepp is trying to get back to full guard. Trombone landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Grepp wants to get back to full guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Trombone lands a nice short elbow. Trombone looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Grepp with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Trombone landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Trombone wants to pass the guard but Grepp is defending well. Grepp regains full guard. Nicely done. Grepp wants to sweep but no luck. Trombone stands up over Grepp, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Trombone pushes down on Grepp's leg and manages to get into half guard. Trombone prevents Grepp from improving his position. Rusty Trombone has got the better of the ground game so far. Trombone moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Grepp. Trombone tries to advance to mount but Grepp denies him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grepp takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Grepp on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Trombone tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Check out the look on Trombone's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

That's four minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Trombone's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Grepp working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Trombone wants to get back to his feet. Sloppy strikes there by Grepp. Trombone gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Grepp working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Grepp maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Trombone could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Grepp has cracked it and Trombone is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Grepp!
