Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Toivo Kanki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jere Karalahti! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kanki gets in close and instigates a clinch. Karalahti tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kanki smiles and moves away.
Karalahti closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kanki circles away. Karalahti looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kanki is fending him off so far but Karalahti persists. Nope, Kanki circles away and we're back to standing. Toivo Kanki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jere Karalahti. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Karalahti. Kanki throws a head kick but Karalahti moves out of range.

Karalahti misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A jab from Kanki misses. Kanki swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Karalahti fails with the takedown. Karalahti misses with a takedown attempt and Kanki counters with a right hand to the body. No luck for Karalahti with that takedown attempt. A head kick misses from Kanki. Kanki tries a head kick but it misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Karalahti.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karalahti doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kanki moves into the clinch. Kanki is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Karalahti is defending well for now. Karalahti blocks the elbow strike.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Kanki. Kanki lands an elbow inside that Karalahti shrugs off. A nice glancing elbow lands by Kanki. Karalahti jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kanki walks away with a smile on his face. Karalahti gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Toivo Kanki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Karalahti is defended easily by Kanki. Karalahti looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Kanki tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Karalahti has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Kanki is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Kanki can't escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kanki tries to lock up and control but Karalahti gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Kanki is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Karalahti locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Kanki is forced to tap!
