Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anton Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sebastian Silvio Sabian! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Dean Styles and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sabian has managed to clinch.
Jackson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sabian is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Sabian throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sabian off to one side. Sabian fails in his attempt to clinch. Jackson throws a series of punches but Sabian moves out of range. Jackson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. The fight stays on the outside here - Sabian looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jackson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Sabian tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jackson smiles and moves away.
Anton Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sebastian Silvio Sabian. Jackson looks to land a body kick but Sabian moved away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson cracks Sabian with a right hand to the side of the head. Anton Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sabian avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jackson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jackson showed some decent athleticism there. Jackson is thwarting Sabian's attempts to control the position. Sabian wants to get back to full guard. Jackson misses with a head shot. Sabian uses the momentum to regain guard. Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but Sabian is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sabian keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully. Jackson wants to stand and escape but instead Sabian has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sabian preventing the sweep. Jackson wants to stand but Sabian is controlling the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Jackson wants to clinch and Sabian moves into the clinch. Sabian jumps guard.
Jackson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jackson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sabian is keeping the position for now. Jackson is in close to Sabian's body, working some short punches and elbows. Jackson throwing strikes from guard but Sabian blocks nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sabian has a closed guard, preventing Jackson from standing up. Jackson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Jackson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sabian looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sabian looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sabian! Jackson is breathing heavily. A control attempt from Jackson but he's now mounted! Jackson tries to hold on but Sabian pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sabian is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jackson is surviving well by controlling Sabian's body position as best he can. Jackson is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Sabian is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Sabian!
