Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cain Marquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and San Martin Palermo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palermo has chosen Adelante Boca Juniors! as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marquez looks for a takedown but Palermo sprawls well.
Palermo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Marquez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Marquez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Palermo 's waist but Palermo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Marquez off to one side.
Palermo tries to clinch up but Marquez circles away and keeps his distance.
Marquez misses with a right hand
and Palermo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Cain Marquez has been cut.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Marquez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Palermo on the ground.
Marquez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That was a close round but I would say that Cain Marquez will probably get the nod.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Marquez here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Palermo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
