Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Tenorman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jacob Esau! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tenorman throws a lazy right hand but Esau sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Tenorman slips a jab from Esau. Tenorman misses with a left hand and Esau connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Some wild striking there from Esau.
A punch combination from Esau misses. Tenorman throws an off balance right hand
letting Esau counter with a right hand. Tenorman drives through with a takedown into guard. Esau keeping moving, preventing Tenorman from controlling successfully. Tenorman pushes down on Esau's leg and manages to get into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tenorman wants to take a breather but Esau is having none of it. Tenorman tries to pass the half guard into mount. Esau knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Tenorman not landing any meaningful shots this time. Tenorman missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Tenorman looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tenorman moves nicely into side control. Tenorman is looking to take a break and control but Esau is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Tenorman looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Esau is avoiding damage well.
Tenorman working away. Tenorman throwing strikes but Esau manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Tenorman is not content to let Esau control the position. Esau tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Tenorman gets back to half guard. Tenorman moves into full guard.
Tenorman controlling Esau's posture. Esau trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Tenorman manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tenorman tries to free his leg and advance position but Esau is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tenorman scoring with punches to the head and body. Esau is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tenorman landing with the ground and pound. Tenorman trying to control but Esau is working from the bottom. Tenorman is looking to advance position but Esau has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Esau jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Tenorman is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Tenorman and Esau has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Esau thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Esau looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Tenorman manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Tenorman wants to get back to full guard. Tenorman trying to control here.
Tenorman is trying is best to control the position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Tenorman, right into the meat.
Tenorman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Esau looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Tenorman is putting a hurting on Esau here, landing some big shots from side control. The ground and pound from Tenorman seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Tenorman scores with punches from side control. Tenorman wants to control but Esau is keeping him busy. Tenorman in side control, throwing shots but Esau defends. Tenorman cracks Esau with a big right hand but Esau just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Tenorman is working Esau over with some ground and pound from side control. Tenorman working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Esau tries to improve position but can't. Esau regains half guard. Tenorman is pressing down on Esau's thigh, looking to free his foot. Esau is holding on for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tenorman passes the guard and advances to mount! Tenorman landing strikes, looking to finish! Tenorman landing strikes, looking to finish! The referee warns Esau that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Esau takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Tenorman landing strikes from the mount and Esau is in trouble! Tenorman lands a big shot there that rocks Esau but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tenorman punishing his opponent with strikes.

Esau takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Tenorman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tenorman landing strikes from the mount. Tenorman lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Tenorman looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Esau is still in real trouble! Can Tenorman finish him? Tenorman cracks Esau with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
