Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Martin counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
A bone on bone clash there as Sanchez blocks the leg kick.
Sanchez misses with a takedown
and Martin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Sanchez tries for a takedown but Martin circles away easily
and Martin counters with a right hand to the body.
Frank Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juan Sanchez.

and Sanchez counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Sanchez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Martin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Martin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sanchez is controlling him.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Sanchez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sanchez trying to control the position from guard on top but Martin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sanchez looking to sit in guard and control but Martin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Martin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Sanchez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Martin lands with a hook. Sanchez tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Martin throws a poor cross that misses
and Sanchez counters with a head kick.
Sanchez throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Martin.
Martin wants to slow Sanchez down by chopping away at his legs.
Sanchez throws a hook to the side of Martin's head but Martin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Martin throws a looping overhand right but Sanchez ducks down to avoid it.

Sanchez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Martin is pushing Sanchez's head away, looking to escape. Sanchez manages to hold on to the position though.

Sanchez moves into full mount!

Sanchez is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Martin has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Martin!
Sanchez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Martin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Sanchez walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Sanchez moves to clinch but Martin breaks away
and Martin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Martin tries to work over Sanchez's front leg with a kick but Sanchez checks it.
Sanchez throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Martin's head.
Sanchez uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Martin.
Sanchez takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Martin gets caught flat footed, as Sanchez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Sanchez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Martin dives on top into guard.
Martin wants to stand but Sanchez has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Sanchez looking for subs off his back but Martin has passed one foot through into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Martin decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Frank Martin showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Martin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
