Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinya Aoki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wang Ker!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki dives in and grabs Ker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ker pushes down on Aoki's head and hops out.
Horrible takedown by Aoki or perhaps it was just good defense by Ker which made him look bad.
Ker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shinya Aoki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ker scores with a hook to the body. Aoki takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Aoki moves out of range as Ker throws a body kick.
Ker lands an overhand right.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ker misses with a straight left.
Aoki shoots in but no luck this time.
Aoki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ker but Ker pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Wang Ker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Ker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ker enables Aoki to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ker manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ker is looking to stand up but Aoki isn't so interested in that idea.
Aoki trying to control the position from guard on top but Ker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Shinya Aoki has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Ker attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Ker swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Decent striking displayed by Ker there.
Aoki shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ker pinned against the cage. Ker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Aoki fails to land the takedown.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Aoki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ker but Ker pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Ker throws a series of punches but Aoki avoids them all with ease.
Aoki misses with a body kick.
Nice shot by Ker.
Ker thuds his right hand into Aoki's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Aoki ducks under a wild hook from Ker.
Ker pivots, looking for a leg kick but Aoki is out of range and Ker settles back down.
Aoki's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ker connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Aoki scrambles back to his feet.
Ker scores with a crisp jab that stopped Aoki in his tracks.
Ker throws a lazy right hand but Aoki sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Nice takedown defense from Ker. No joy for Aoki on that attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Aoki walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Aoki shoots in for a double leg but Ker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wang Ker dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Aoki shoots in looking for a takedown. Ker tries to sprawl out of it but Aoki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ker scores with a jab to the jaw.
Ker dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Aoki closes the distance and clinches up with Ker, looking for a takedown. Aoki pushes Ker against the cage but Ker circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aoki takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Some wild striking there from Ker.
Ker works the jab nicely.

Ker pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ker throws a leg kick that misses.
Ker walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Aoki checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Ker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ker, as that shot connected.
Ker looks to land a right hand but Aoki moved out of range.
Aoki takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nice takedown defense from Ker. No joy for Aoki on that attempt.
Ker misses the jab.
Aoki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ker stuffs the takedown.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Aoki has his takedown stuffed
and Ker counters with a straight right hand.
Nice uppercut lands for Ker. That snapped Aoki's head back.
Ker looks for the body kick but Aoki saw that one coming.
Aoki has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Ker thuds a left hand into Aoki's body.

No joy there for Ker, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ker throws a jab but it's blocked by Aoki.
Aoki drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Ker scores with a jab.
Ker pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Aoki back to the cage. Ker follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Ker connects with a good right hand that stumbles Aoki. Aoki circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Aoki fails with the takedown.
Ker throws a wild body kick that Aoki sees coming a mile off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wang Ker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Ker throws a leg kick but Aoki sees it coming and moves out of range.
Ker connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Ker looks to land a left hand but Aoki moved out of range nicely.
Ker lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Aoki backs up against the cage.
Aoki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ker as he avoids it easily.
Aoki takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Aoki looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ker is fending him off so far but Aoki persists. Nope, Ker circles away and we're back to standing.

Good standup being displayed there by Ker as he connects with a hook.

Wang Ker seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Ker tests Aoki's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Ker lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Aoki shoots in for a takedown but Ker shows good takedown defense.

Aoki's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ker connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Aoki scrambles back to his feet.
Ker scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Aoki is defended easily by Ker.
Shinya Aoki has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Ker scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Ker darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Wang Ker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Ker winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
