Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Urijah Faber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zak Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Faber comes to the cage accompanied by Ludacris - Act A Fool. Simmons has chosen Kid cypher round 11 as his entrance music. The key to victory for Urijah Faber has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Urijah Faber! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zak Simmons! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Faber with a poor takedown and Simmons counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Faber's guard now. Faber wants to get back to his feet but Simmons is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Simmons postures up in Faber's guard and throws a big left but Faber blocks it. Simmons thows a big elbow that misses. Faber keeping full guard, as Simmons tries to pass. Faber wants to stand up but Simmons is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Simmons throws a strike but Faber rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Faber wants to pass the guard but Simmons is keeping the position. Faber throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Simmons wants to stand up but Faber is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Faber stands and steps away. Simmons gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Simmons looking to score a takedown here. Faber is defending well but Simmons drives through and ends up in Faber's guard. Simmons seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Simmons tries to free his leg and advance position but Faber is retaining full guard. Faber might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Simmons throwing strikes but missing. Simmons engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Simmons pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Faber is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Simmons lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Simmons trying to control but Faber is working from the bottom. Simmons's corner is telling him to maintain position. Faber pushes Simmons off and gets back to his feet.
Simmons closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Faber to the mat! Faber manages to get full guard. Simmons trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Simmons throws and elbow that misses. Faber uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Simmons's guard. Nice move by Faber! Faber is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Simmons is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Faber drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Faber jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Simmons wants to stand but Faber is controlling the position. Simmons keeping moving, preventing Faber from controlling successfully. Faber pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Simmons is keeping the position for now. Faber thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Simmons is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Simmons wants to stand but Faber is controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Faber is in close to Simmons's body, working some short punches and elbows. Simmons wants to stand but Faber is controlling the position. Faber is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Faber won't allow Simmons to get back to his feet. Simmons really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Faber. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Simmons is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Simmons avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Simmons working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Faber. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We're going to have a standup here because Urijah Faber wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Simmons closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Faber did well to prevent Simmons getting side control. Simmons wants to advance to full mount but Faber doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Faber is trying to control the position but Simmons postures up. Simmons chips away with some ground and pound. Simmons content to stall in guard here. Simmons wants to control from the top but Faber keeps moving. Simmons tries to free his leg and advance position but Faber is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Simmons is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Zak Simmons has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Faber shoots and misses and Simmons counters with a nice double leg into side control. Faber won't be happy with that. Faber is trying to get back to half guard. Simmons cracks Faber with a big elbow. Simmons working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Simmons trying to control the action but Faber is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Simmons tries to advance to mount but Faber denies him. The referee asks Simmons politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Simmons prefers to stall for the moment though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zak Simmons showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Faber is working for a kimura but Simmons is defending it quite comfortably.

He's almost out here... but no, Faber gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Faber decides to stand up, so the ref orders Simmons to his feet. Simmons closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Simmons tries to pass to full mount but Faber defends it. Simmons prevents Faber from standing back up.
Urijah Faber has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Faber taking some punishment here, with Simmons in his half guard. Simmons performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Simmons takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Faber wants to control but Simmons is keeping busy and won't allow it. Simmons missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Faber avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Simmons. Simmons missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Simmons trying to pass the guard but Faber defending well. Zak Simmons is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Simmons perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Zak Simmons. Well Simmons has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
