The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plug shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Alves manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Plug avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Plug postures up and lands a big shot to Alves's brow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Plug thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alves is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Plug is aware though and is defending well.
Alves pushes a forearm under Plug's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Plug is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
