Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sylvain Rioux! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Martin Le Corre! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rioux misses with a double jab
and Le Corre counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Rioux misses with a wild combination.
Le Corre throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Rioux counters with a one-two to the body. Rioux throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Rioux stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rioux wants it to stay on the feet. Rioux throws a head kick but Le Corre moves out of range.

Le Corre throws a combination that misses and Rioux counters with a good low kick that Le Corre was not able to check. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rioux paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Rioux lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Rioux throws a series of strikes that have Le Corre backpedaling.

Rioux throws a series of punches but Le Corre avoids them all with ease. Sloppy strikes from Le Corre. Those never looked like landing. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Le Corre is defended easily by Rioux. Le Corre throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rioux counters with a series of strikes. Le Corre will be more careful next time no doubt. Rioux misses with a double jab
and Le Corre counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rioux's guard now. Le Corre throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rioux works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Le Corre with a flurry of punches that miss. Le Corre stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rioux swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rioux knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Le Corre on the ground. Le Corre content to stall in guard here. Le Corre won't allow Rioux to sweep him here. Le Corre wants to pass the guard but Rioux is keeping the position. Le Corre has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Le Corre is stalling in the full guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rioux pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Le Corre shoots in but no luck this time. Sylvain Rioux has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jean Martin Le Corre. Rioux throws a left and a right that both miss
and Le Corre counters with a single leg into guard. Rioux didn't expect that. Rioux keeping moving, preventing Le Corre from controlling successfully. Le Corre wants to pass the guard but Rioux is keeping the position. Le Corre not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Rioux is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Le Corre is pressing down on Rioux's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rioux is holding on for now. Rioux wants to improve his position but Le Corre is controlling well.
Le Corre works his foot free and advances to mount. Le Corre misses with a head shot. Le Corre throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Rioux is squirming around, avoiding Le Corre's attempts to control the action. Le Corre working for a submission but Rioux is keeping him at bay. Rioux is desperately trying to improve his position but Le Corre has a good base and remains in mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jean Martin Le Corre dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Le Corre perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Le Corre uses his free foot to push down on Rioux's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rioux. Le Corre controlling the position easily from mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Le Corre misses with a head shot. Rioux holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Le Corre tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Rioux is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Le Corre with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Le Corre has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Rioux is forced to tap!
