Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, dave wills! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hugga Boo! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Joseph Jones and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from wills.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Boo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Boo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? wills is fending him off so far but Boo persists. Nope, wills circles away and we're back to standing. wills scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. wills gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Boo tries to clinch but wills moves out of range. wills tries to bum rush Boo with a series of wild strikes but Boo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's one minute gone in the round. wills throws out a loose jab but Boo uses good head movement to avoid it. wills looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Boo ducks under a wild hook from wills. Boo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but wills paws at him with a jab and circles away. wills avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's going to take a lot out of Hugga Boo. wills throws a looping overhand right but Boo ducks down to avoid it. wills avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boo blocks a jab. Boo tries to grapple but his opponent circles and wills connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Boo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. wills looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Boo controls the position. Boo trying to control the position but wills is working away. wills tries to escape but Boo is in control. Boo in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boo's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. wills pushes Boo away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Boo gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The referee asks Boo politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Boo prefers to stall for the moment though. I looks like Boo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. wills on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if wills tries to get out of the position.
Despite being in the dominant position, Hugga Boo just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. wills swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. wills postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Boo holds on and takes a little breather.
That's one minute gone in the round. wills has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Boo is proving hard to escape from. Boo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Boo controls wills momentarily but wills frees himself. wills trying to stand up but can't free himself from Boo's guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Boo is on top in guard.
Boo won't allow wills to sweep him here. Boo wants to pass the guard but wills is keeping the position. Boo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. wills avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Boo is stalling in the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. wills is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Boo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. wills wants to get back to his feet but Boo is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Boo content to stall in guard here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Boo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. wills wants to control from the top but Boo keeps moving.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Boo shoots for a double leg takedown but wills sprawls well. He's pushed Boo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. wills closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Boo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but wills wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. wills looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Boo struggling a bit here. Boo manages to work his way to half guard, despite wills's best efforts. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boo is working for takedown but wills is calmly controlling the position for now. Boo wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Boo goes for a takedown in the clinch but wills prevents it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. wills throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Both fighters are breathing heavily. wills is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Boo is controlling him. Boo controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Boo clinches but wills breaks the clinch and wills counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by wills. wills prevents Boo from breaking the clinch. wills works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Boo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. dave wills overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Boo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in wills's guard. wills not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

You can see the frustration on wills's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Boo trying to control the action but wills is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. wills sneaks back into half guard. wills tries to kick Boo off but Boo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Boo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Boo content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. wills is looking to get back to full guard here but Boo has managed to pass to side control instead.
