The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Novick shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cookie as he jumps to the side.
Cookie looks to land a combination but Novick avoids it well.

Novick seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cookie is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Novick frees his head nicely. Oh but Cookie has switched to an armbar! Novick is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
