Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Petey Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes into the arena with Inside The Fire by Disturbed blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Petey Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, George Penn! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penn misses with a takedown and Smith counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Penn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Smith looking to pass the guard. Smith throwing strikes from guard but Penn blocks nicely. Smith keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Penn's head. A close round but George Penn will probably get the nod. That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Penn doesn't succeed with the takedown and Smith counters with a single leg into guard. Penn didn't expect that. Smith throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Penn works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Smith might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Smith is looking to work some ground and pound but Penn has wrist control. Penn wants to stand and escape but Smith is having none of it. Penn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Penn keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully. Penn has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Penn tries to kick Smith off but Smith keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Penn has hold of Smith's hands but Smith slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Penn tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Smith manages to move to mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn is looking to improve his position but Smith isn't that keen on the idea. Smith lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Smith lands with some strikes. Smith putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Smith wants to control the pace but Penn is squirming around nicely. Smith raining down hammerfists from mount.
