Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dickson Yamada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Captain Canuck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dickson Yamada! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Captain Canuck! The judges for this bout are , and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yamada rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Canuck moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Yamada walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Canuck checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Canuck looks to clinch and Yamada counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Yamada. Yamada drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Yamada breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Yamada drives through and clinches with Canuck against the cage.
Yamada's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Canuck keeps Yamada at a distance using the push kick. Canuck closes the distance looking to clinch and Yamada counters by clinching up. Canuck missing with knees to the body.
Yamada turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Yamada misses with an attempted head punch from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Yamada thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Yamada tries for a kimura but Canuck is defending well. Canuck is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Yamada stands up and beckons Canuck to his feet. Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
That's one minute gone in the round. Yamada pushes Canuck up against the cage in a clinch. Yamada breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Canuck throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Yamada throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Canuck. Canuck closes the distance but Yamada moves to the side and Yamada counters with a body kick that stops Canuck in his tracks momentarily. Canuck darts in trying to clinch and Yamada counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Yamada manages to break the clinch.
Canuck tries to clinch but Yamada moves away and Yamada counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Yamada. Yamada drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Canuck gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Yamada keeps control of Canuck as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Yamada has picked Canuck up - he's going for a ride! Yamada dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Yamada postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Canuck to stand up. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Canuck throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Yamada avoids the head kick by Canuck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yamada is looking to clinch. Canuck looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Yamada darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Yamada not landing any meaningful shots this time. Canuck wants to control but Yamada is keeping busy and won't allow it. Canuck looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Canuck looks gassed! Yamada is looking for a kimura here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yamada stands up and beckons Canuck to join him on the feet. Canuck takes a jab right on the kisser.
It looks like Captain Canuck has been cut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yamada lands a left and a right that send Canuck crashing to the mat, dazed. Yamada thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Canuck is rocked! Canuck fails with the takedown and Yamada counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Canuck to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Yamada!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Dickson Yamada!
