Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Mitrione (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Bader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitrione comes to the cage accompanied by Bad Meets Evil - Fast Lane. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Mitrione! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Bader! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mitrione tries to clinch up. Mitrione lands a really nice looking cross but Bader seems unphased.
Bader with a poor takedown enabling Mitrione to counter with a crisp jab. Mitrione throws a series of punches but Bader avoids them all with ease. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Bader takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Mitrione lands a slapping body shot.
Mitrione throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bader clinches. Mitrione blocks the elbow strike.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Bader as Mitrione tries to tie him up. Bader throws an elbow but it misses.
Mitrione looking to stall.
Bader's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Mitrione uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Bader gets a clinch. Bader doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Mitrione is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Bader is keeping busy. Mitrione wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Bader has him pressed against the cage. Mitrione is trying to break the clinch but Bader is controlling him. Mitrione can't break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bader breaks from the clinch.
Bader closes the distance and clinches. Mitrione is trying to force a seperation but Bader has the dominant position. Bader is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mitrione gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Bader turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bader manages to end up in side control. Bader is looking to take a break and control but Mitrione is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Bader misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bader is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mitrione has escaped the position, nice work there. Bader misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Bader goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Mitrione rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bader's guard! Nice work there by Mitrione! Mitrione thows a big elbow that misses. Bader manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Matt Mitrione will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Mitrione misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mitrione throws a right and a left that Bader avoids nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bader rushes Mitrione and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mitrione tries to break the clinch but Bader is controlling the position. Bader taking a breather. Mitrione looking to slow down the pace here. Mitrione is fighting off a takedown attempt but Bader is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mitrione to the mat. Mitrione regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Bader throwing strikes from guard but Mitrione blocks nicely. Mitrione trying to control the position here. Bader trying to control but Mitrione is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bader pushing down on Mitrione's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Bader missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Mitrione is refusing to be controlled, as Bader sits in half guard. Bader keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Bader is working for a submission of some sort.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bader looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Mitrione is refusing to be controlled, as Bader sits in half guard. Bader working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Mitrione's thigh. Mitrione counters though and makes it back to full guard. Bader trying to control but Mitrione is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Mitrione working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bader. Bader forces his way into half guard. Bader passes to side control. Bader scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Mitrione to see if he's OK. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bader in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tom Bader showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Mitrione changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Matt Mitrione is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mitrione shoots and misses and Bader moves into the clinch. Bader wants a takedown but no success here.
Bader tries to land knees in the clinch but Mitrione avoids the damage to the body. Bader throws a head punch that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bader has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Mitrione regains guard immediately. Bader lands a couple of digs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bader throwing strikes from guard but Mitrione blocks nicely. Bader has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Mitrione is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bader wants to control from the top but Mitrione keeps moving. Bader postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Bader trying to control the position from guard on top but Mitrione is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bader drops back looking for a leg! Mitrione is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mitrione manages to kick Bader off! Bader jumps back into Mitrione's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Bader throws a big right hand that misses. Mitrione keeping moving, preventing Bader from controlling successfully. Bader stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mitrione swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bader trying to control but Mitrione is working from the bottom. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Bader forces his way into half guard. Bader is keen to just control but Mitrione is a slippery customer. Mitrione moves into full guard.
Bader is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bader is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Mitrione keeping moving, preventing Bader from controlling successfully. Bader controlling from the top position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bader pushing down on Mitrione's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
And that's the end of the fight! Tom Bader comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Bader has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
