Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sir Didymus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jin Kisaragi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Didymus comes into the arena with Welcome to the TerrorDome blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Kisaragi's choice of entrance music: Lust SIN. Jin Kisaragi told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sir Didymus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jin Kisaragi!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Didymus scores with a shot to the body.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Didymus throws and elbow that misses. Kisaragi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Didymus's guard. Nice move by Kisaragi!

Didymus is looking for a triangle but Kisaragi pushes his legs off easily.

Kisaragi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Kisaragi is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Didymus is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Didymus has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Didymus might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Didymus slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Didymus has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Didymus counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Kisaragi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Kisaragi has control of Didymus's left arm, preventing Didymus from doing any damage.
Kisaragi's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Kisaragi is working to avoid the ground and pound but Didymus connects with a decent elbow.
Kisaragi parries the strikes from Didymus easily there. Didymus is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kisaragi to escape.

Didymus tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Didymus has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Didymus is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Kisaragi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Didymus can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sir Didymus.
Well Didymus has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
