Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Doc Holliday (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Kendall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kendall has chosen Kool Moe Dee - I Go To Work as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Doc Holliday!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kurt Kendall!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Joseph Jones and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kendall's corner calls for a 1-2. Kendall obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Holliday uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kendall.
Holliday rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Kendall counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Holliday is trying to maintain the position but Kendall is very close to passing his half guard.
Holliday wants to get back to full guard.
Kendall throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Kendall blocks the strikes from Holliday.
Holliday makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Holliday.
Kendall is looking to stand up but Holliday won't let him.
Kendall wants to stand and escape but instead Holliday has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Kendall avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Holliday lands a couple of elbows.
Holliday trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Kendall can't keep his opponent in guard - Holliday advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Holliday thows a huge punch but Kendall dodges it nicely.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kendall is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Holliday not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Kendall is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Holliday throws a right hand that misses
and Kendall counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kendall listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Holliday paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kendall misses with an uppercut
enabling Holliday to counter with a crisp jab.
Holliday displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kendall throws out the jab.
Kendall throws an off balance right hand
and Holliday counters with a nice body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Doc Holliday will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Holliday feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kendalls jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Kendall fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Holliday fails to land the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kendall connects with an inside leg kick.

Kendall misses with a right hand

and Holliday decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kendall's guard.

Kendall wants to sweep but no luck.

Kendall really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Holliday. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Holliday throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kendall works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Holliday throws a strike but Kendall rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kendall stands up from Holliday's guard - Kendall perhaps looking for a knockout.

and Holliday cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Holliday makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
A clash of legs there as Holliday blocks the low kick.
Holliday avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kendall throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Holliday counters with a nice uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doc Holliday dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Kendall scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Kendall misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Kendall wants to stand but Holliday is controlling his arm.
Holliday tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Kendall decides to stand up, so the ref orders Holliday to his feet.

enabling Holliday to counter with a crisp jab.
Holliday ducks under a wild hook from Kendall.

Kendall swings widly with a right hand
and Holliday counters with a nice uppercut.
Kendall loads up on a big right hand but Holliday slips the punch.
Kendall steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Holliday.
Kurt Kendall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Holliday counters with a nice uppercut.
Holliday on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Kendall changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Holliday looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Doc Holliday is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Holliday struggling a bit here.
Holliday has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kurt Kendall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Kendall decides to stand up, so the ref orders Holliday to his feet.

Kendall shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
