The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dos Santos Preuss throws a big shot that misses. Dos Santos Preuss throws a hook to the side of Moris's head but Moris sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Dos Santos Preuss misses with a hook
so Moris counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Moris trying to control but Dos Santos Preuss is working from the bottom. Dos Santos Preuss is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Moris is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Moris wants to control from the top but Dos Santos Preuss keeps moving. Moris preventing the sweep. We're going to have a standup here because Travis Moris wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Moris fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dos Santos Preuss avoids it really well and circles away. Dos Santos Preuss throws a poor cross that misses
and Moris counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dos Santos Preuss won't be happy with that. Moris is chipping away with strikes.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Moris blocks the strikes from Dos Santos Preuss.
Moris thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Moris goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Dos Santos Preuss has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Moris but great work by Dos Santos Preuss. Moris is breathing heavily. Dos Santos Preuss creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Moris sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Dos Santos Preuss tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dos Santos Preuss tries to score with some ground and pound. Moris controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Moris regains half guard, as Dos Santos Preuss was trying to land strikes. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dos Santos Preuss lands a nice short elbow. Moris regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Dos Santos Preuss. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Dos Santos Preuss postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dos Santos Preuss passes Moris's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Dos Santos Preuss thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Moris to regain full guard. Dos Santos Preuss must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Dos Santos Preuss throws a strike but Moris rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Dos Santos Preuss throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Moris scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Moris cracks Dos Santos Preuss with a solid left hand. Moris lands a couple of decent looking shots. Moris drops back looking for a leg! Dos Santos Preuss is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dos Santos Preuss manages to kick Moris off! Moris jumps back into Dos Santos Preuss's guard. Moris is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moris postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Moris lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Moris slips nicely into half guard. Moris looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dos Santos Preuss with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Moris scoring with strikes to the body and head. Moris prevents Dos Santos Preuss from improving his position. Moris lands with a punch from half guard. Moris landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Moris takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Moris slips a nice elbow through Dos Santos Preuss's hands, connecting with Dos Santos Preuss's forehead. Moris looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dos Santos Preuss with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Travis Moris dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Moris takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Dos Santos Preuss throws a lazy uppercut
and Moris counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Moris. Moris trying to control but Dos Santos Preuss is working from the bottom. Dos Santos Preuss has his foot on Moris's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Moris works his way back into a safe position though. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Moris's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Dos Santos Preuss really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Moris. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dos Santos Preuss has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Moris can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Moris working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Dos Santos Preuss striking off his back but it's not causing Moris any problems. Moris is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Moris sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dos Santos Preuss's guard. Dos Santos Preuss is trying to maintain the position but Moris is very close to passing his half guard. Moris with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Moris here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Moris maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Dos Santos Preuss could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Moris has cracked it and Dos Santos Preuss is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Moris!
