Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Blitz Crank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Solo Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Green is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Jethro Tull. Solo Green is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Blitz Crank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Solo Green!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Green tries to clinch

so Crank counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Crank trying to control the position from guard on top but Green is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Crank stopping the sweep attempt from Green.
Crank stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Green swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Green is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Crank trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Green trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Green avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Crank is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Green is looking to clinch but Crank is avoiding it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Crank counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Green keeping moving, preventing Crank from controlling successfully.
Crank is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Green is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Green trying to keep a closed guard but Crank is proving a slippery customer.
Crank stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Green swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Blitz Crank.

and Green counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Crank wants to control from the top but Green keeps moving.
Green is looking to stand up but Crank isn't so interested in that idea.

and Crank counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Green!
Crank looking to control but Green is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Green tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Crank trying to control but Green is having none of it.
Crank unloads with some shots from mount but Green bucks and avoids them well.

Green wants to hold on but Crank pushes him away.
Green really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Green swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Green tries to reverse the position but Crank maintains control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Green throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Crank sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Crank looking to ground and pound but Green is blocking nicely.
Green sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Green holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Green is trying to stand.

Crank working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Green's thigh. Green counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Crank looking to sit in guard and control but Green gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Green trying to control but Crank is working from the bottom.
Crank is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Crank keeping moving, preventing Green from controlling successfully.
Blitz Crank overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Green is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Solo Green was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Green closes the distance looking to clinch

and Crank counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Green's guard now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Blitz Crank dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Green clobbers Crank with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Crank avoids a punch combination nicely.
Green ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Crank moves away.
Green thows a left - swing and a miss!
Green swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Green tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Crank was well out of range. Poor timing from Green.
Green misses the shot to the body.
Green closes the distance looking to clinch

and Crank counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Green!

Green holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Crank tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Green tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Green flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Crank misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Green is squirming around, avoiding Crank's attempts to control the action.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Green tries to lock up and control but Crank gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Crank trying to control but Green is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Crank takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Blitz Crank wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Green throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Crank.
Crank circles away from the clinch attempt

and Crank decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Green's guard.
Green is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Green is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Green is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Solo Green has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Crank, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
