Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Red Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bj Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fox comes to the ring accompanied by Sanford and Son. Penn has chosen BJ Penn as his entrance music. Red Fox has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penn tries to work over Fox's front leg with a kick but Fox checks it. Penn tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fox swivels and escapes. Fox misses with a right hand and Penn counters with a straight right hand. Penn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Penn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fox sees it coming and avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Penn throws a big shot that misses. Fox swings widly with a right hand
and Penn counters with a nice uppercut. Penn ducks under a wild hook from Fox. Red Fox is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fox on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Fox tries to work over Penn's front leg with a kick but Penn checks it. Penn throws a poor cross that misses
letting Fox counter with a right hand. A leg kick checked by Fox. Fox throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Penn counters with a slapping leg kick. Decent striking displayed by Penn there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fox throws a good cross that connects.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Penn ducks under a wild hook from Fox. Fox moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Fox throws an off balance right hand
and Penn counters with a straight right hand. Fox is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Penn. Fox doesn't manage to clinch there - Penn circles away.
Penn swings widly with a right hand
and Fox makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fox misses the body punch and Penn counters with a straight right hand. Fox takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Penn misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Penn checks a leg kick. Some bone on bone action there as Fox checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Penn displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Fox throws out the jab. Penn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fox pinned against the ropes. Fox gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Red Fox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bj Penn.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Fox throws a leg kick that is checked and Penn counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Penn misses with a leg kick. Penn moves out of range as Fox strikes. Fox defending well as Penn loads up on a big left hand. Penn scores with a slapping inside leg kick. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Penn on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Penn throws out a loose jab but Fox uses good head movement to avoid it. And thats the end of the round the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Red Fox will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

That's one minute gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Penn. Fox does a little dance to reset his feet. Penn throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Fox, right into the meat.
Fox throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Penn. Fox blocks the body kick.
Penn connects with a leg kick. Fox looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Penn shoots in for a takedown but Fox shows good takedown defense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Penn ducks right into an uppercut from Fox. Fox misses with a low kick as Penn jumps back. Fox throws an off balance right hand
and Penn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Fox sizes up Penn with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Penn motions for Fox to come forward. Penn throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Penn misses the jab. Fox lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Penn moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Penn lands a leg kick that knocks Fox off balance momentarily. A head kick misses from Penn. Fox uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Penn.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Fox lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Penn backs up against the ropes.
Fox stuffs the takedown. Red Fox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bj Penn. Fox rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Penn moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Penn throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. A decent looking cross lands there for Penn. No luck with that takedown attempt from Penn. Fox swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
And thats the end of the round the fighters go back to their corners.
Red Fox dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Penn moves away from the strike by Fox. A big right from Penn misses. Sloppy strikes from Fox. Those never looked like landing. Penn throws a leg kick and Fox counters with a lovely shot to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fox bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Penn's head backwards. Fox lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn cracks Fox with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes. Penn has his takedown stuffed and Fox counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Penn swings widly with a right hand
and Fox counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Fox moves out of range as Penn strikes. Penn with a jab. Penn swings away with a leg kick that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Penn swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Penn fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Fox moves out of range of the strikes. Penn closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fox's guard. Fox wants to sweep but no luck. Fox looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn trying to control the position from guard on top but Fox is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Penn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fox swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Penn engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Fox looking for a guillotine here but Penn defends easily.
Bj Penn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Penn wants to pass the guard but Fox is keeping the position. Red Fox is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Penn advances position into side control! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Penn trying to control the action but Fox is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Red Fox. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Fox, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
