Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Moe Lester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lester comes to the cage accompanied by I Feel Wonderful. Nelson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Stephen Lynch - Special Ed. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Moe Lester! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ed Nelson! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lester instigates a clinch. Lester throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Nelson blocks it with crossed arms. Lester tries to land a knee to the head but Nelson blocks with his arms.
Nelson misses with a punch on the inside.
Nelson wants to break free but Lester has control.
Nelson is trying to maintain a safe position but Lester gets an underhook and turns Nelson into the cage. Lester misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Lester misses with a knee strike.
Nelson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Lester landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Both fighters working to control the clinch. With the fighters up against the cage, Lester throws an elbow but misses. Lester misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Nelson.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Lester for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Nelson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lester down to the mat. Lester avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Lester connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nelson misses with a left hand and Lester counters with a stiff right hand. Nelson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Nelson jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Lester walks into a stiff left hand from Nelson. Nelson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lester circles away. Moe Lester has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ed Nelson. Lester throws a nice inside leg kick. Nelson throws a right hand that misses
and Lester counters with a stiff right hand. Lester misses with a leg kick. Nelson misses with an uppercut
and Lester counters with a nice uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Moe Lester dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Lester is looking to clinch. Nelson checks the leg kick nicely there.

and Lester counters with a low kick, right behind Nelson 's knee. Lester connects with a leg kick. Nelson looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Nelson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lester on the side of the head. Nelson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Nelson swings widly with a right hand

That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lester sees it coming and avoids it easily. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nelson. Nelson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Lester connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A slapping leg kick lands for Lester.
Lester lands a nice hook to Nelson's body. Nelson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Lester is looking to clinch. Nelson thuds a left hand into Lester's body. Lester misses with a wild body shot. Lester throws a leg kick but Nelson moved away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nelson throws an off balance right hand
and Lester counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Nelson throws a predictable looking body shot
and Nelson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Nelson has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Lester. Nelson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Lester is looking to reverse the position. Nelson trying to control the action but Lester is working from the bottom. Lester tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nelson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nelson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Lester tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Nelson presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Lester is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Nelson connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nelson thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Lester tries to hold on but Nelson postures up. Nelson trying to control but he's not successful this time. Nelson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Nelson dominating with strikes here. Nelson goes for an armbar but Lester turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Lester. Lester content to stall in guard here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Moe Lester dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Nelson misses with an uppercut
and Lester counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Nelson shoots in looking for a takedown but Lester manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nelson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Lester moves into the clinch. Nelson trying to stall but Lester improves his position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nelson slowing the pace effectively. Lester tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Nelson avoids it. Lester trying to land knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lester lands a left hand that snaps the head of Nelson backwards. A head punch on the inside from Nelson fails to land. Lester stops a takedown attempt from Nelson.

Moe Lester has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ed Nelson. Nelson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lester prevents it.

Lester misses with an elbow over the top. Lester lands an elbow that stopped Nelson in his tracks for a moment. Lester tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

It looks like Ed Nelson has been cut. Lester tries to land a knee to the head but Nelson blocks with his arms.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Nelson throws a punch but it's blocked by Lester. Lester blocks an uppercut.

Both guys are working to get underhooks. Lester escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nelson misses with a combination
and Lester counters with a good low kick that Nelson was not able to check. Lester tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nelson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lester closes the distance and pushes Nelson back into the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice elbow from Lester. Nelson managing to block the knees to the body from Lester.
Nelson misses with the head strike.
Nelson blocks the elbow strike.
Nelson wants a takedown.
Lester tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Lester lands an elbow inside. Nelson fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Still in the clinch, Lester scores with a nice short uppercut. Lester throws a knee to the head but misses.
Lester breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Moe Lester is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Lester dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Nelson. That did some damage! Moe Lester is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nelson closes the distance and clinches up with Lester, looking for a takedown. Nelson pushes Lester against the cage but Lester circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Nelson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ed Nelson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Nelson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Lester fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Nelson avoids the body shot from Lester.
Nelson misses with a right hand and Lester counters with a left to the body. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nelson throws a poor cross that misses
and Lester counters with a nice low kick that buckles Nelson's knee momentarily. Nelson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Nelson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
And that's the end of the fight! Moe Lester showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lester, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
